Let me start at the very beginning of this story now.
Tyrus has had some gunk on his teeth that I could not get rid of so I thought it was time for a cleaning. Our insurance company has sent me two letters telling me to call my dentist and get him in. I called and the receptionist sounded less than excited to schedule an appointment for a two year old and wondered why I felt it necessary. I explained and she set us up an appointment.
We have been telling Tyrus all about what would happen when we got there. He asks us to "Talk about the Dentist" all the time. We talked about it for about 30 minutes last night and he was ready this morning to go.
We got there and signed in. The hygienist did not hide her expression when she saw that she was going to be working on a two year old. I don't think she liked kids.
She took us back and Ty climbed right up in the chair, sat back and assumed the position. She was now mildly impressed with my very well behaved child. The dentist entered the room and also seemed to have the same enthusiasm for children as his assistant. He introduced himself to Ty and began the exam. Ty opened his mouth on que, stuck his tung out on que and then put it back in. The dentist now comments on how well behaved and obedient he is and I smile. (Yesterday I would have given him to the first stranger in want of a child)
The exam lasted all of two minutes and the Dentist was not concerned with the gunk on his teeth, and I think he thought I was a mother that need to be a little less concerned, but I didn't care, we had fun.
