At the circus or in it?

Today was a day, the good the bad the ugly. We had it all and it was fun in the end. After spending some time reflecting on the day I am so in awe. I am in awe of my God and how amazing He is. He is in every situation and there to help and sometimes I think He laughs at me, or with me, I am not sure, I am just glad to have Him on my team.

It started this morning when we dropped James off at work. Tyrus immediately knew something was up. James is going to be gone all week. I was pulling away and Ty told me he needed to say I love you to dad one more time. I put the car in reverse and he was trying to make his little fingers say I love you in Sign language, so cute. From there we headed out to Dr. Sanborn's in Mt. Pleasant. He was telling me the whole way there that he need mommy, how nice to be needed. On the way home we were stopping at Aunt Johanna's house. We were almost there and he started the old mom, mom, mom, mom, mom... mom... mom(I am ignoring him) then all of the sudden he amps up the volume and says, Aunt Tara, Tara, I NEED you. My heart is warm.

We came home and he ate his lunch and then he got down and dissapeared for a while. He was very quiet but I knew he was in his room so I went in to check on him and he was almost asleep in his bed. I changed his diaper and went to leave when he decided he need me again. Christopher was in need of me also so I told him no. He went into all out melt down. I had to push him into his room and shut the door on him. I finished with Christopher and went in and cuddled with him until he fell asleep. These are some of my favorite moments.

When he got up we ate dinner and got ready to go to the circus. He kept telling me he was seeing dragons. This is not a new thing for him, he sees them all the time, but tonight he was terrified of them. He was hanging onto me so tightly. I asked him some questions and decided it was very real to him. We prayed but they kept coming back. I called James and he talked to Tyrus about it. This helped a bit but I was ready to leave the house so I tried to distract him as best I could.

We met Tim and Johanna at the circus and got into our seats. Would you believe there was a kid there with a dragon balloon. Seriously? Tyrus just stood there staring at it. Again with the distractions.

The circus got started with the white tigers and lions, very cool. They had a camel and two Elephants!! They had rides available for the low,low price of 5 for kids and 7 for adults. We were not feeling the need to participate until Tyrus wanted to ride on the elephant. We had to talk Helena into it but finally Uncle Tim got in line with the kids. Helena got close and changed her mind and Ty didn't want to do it with out his Bena Rose so we saved 17!! Yeah

Before all the elephant ride fun Tyrus had a accident and fell and whacked his head really good on the bleachers. There was a lady there so fast with a wad of ice from the snow cones, sans the sugar syrup. I don't know how she got there so quickly but she was a God send. Johanna had motrin so we gave him a dose right away, another God send. He also bit his tung but he calmed down very quickly. He has a nice sized goose egg but he is fine.

On the way home he kept saying something but I could not figure out what he was saying. Turns out the moon went to the Dr. and it isn't broken anymore!! We played peek-a-boo with the moon and the trees, a very funny game if you ever want to play!

When we couldn't see the moon anymore he started giving me lessons on how to say bugger. B-B-Bugger, say B-B-Bugger. Also a very funny car game.

After we got home I wanted to keep him up for a bit to give him a dose of Tylenol, for the head ache, and just to be sure he was ok. We stared doing the dishes and he tells me that his boppy(pacifier) isn't his any more, it is Dave's. He is laughing because he knows he is being silly. We only know one Dave, Pastor Dave, and he definitely doesn't have a boppy.

Life is so amazing and today was one of those days worth remembering.
