Tyrus is the same way but to the extreme. The kid does not settle for easy answers and he somehow knows when you are trying to avoid the in-depth answer he is looking for. The other day we were reading a book and one of the pictures was a bunch of forest creatures but all you could see was their silhouette. He understands shadows now, after a 30 minute explanation, with demonstrations, of course, but a silhouette, now that must be explained!! Luckily my dad showed up and gave him the most satisfactory explanation of a silhouette, with a demonstration, sorry to leave you in the dark on that one mom. Seriously, if you want a silhouette there can only be one light on in the house and if you aren't in that room, well, you are in the dark.
I didn't intend on telling this whole story but now I must.
So now my dad is standing in the doorway between my kitchen and dining room and Tyrus and I are moving back and forth between the two rooms to check out this amazing silhouette thing. When you are in the room with the light on you can see Papa's face but when you go to the dark room all you can see is the outline of him. So cool!! Tyrus goes back and forth between the rooms but each time he sits on the floor, wiggles his little tushy so he is comfy and then put his hand's on his knees and looks on in shear wonderment. The best part. My dad is just turning back and forth, not saying a word, just watching Tyrus figure it out. These two are a match made in heaven.
Now for the story to go with the pictures. I promise it is not nearly as long.
While we were over at my parents house for labor day the screen on the water in-take got clogged.
Can we fix it?
Not without an audience!
"Tyrus and Helena, come here I have something to show you. James, you can come too, you will like this, it is cool." -Papa
I am so happy to be part of such a silly family.
I love you dad. And thanks for washing the little hands when you were done.
